At Olney Infant Academy we aim to give every child the opportunity to reach their full potential.

Olney Infant Academy promotes a whole school culture where the personalised learning needs of Looked After Children (LAC) and Previously Looked After Children (PLAC) matters and their personal and emotional needs and academic achievement are prioritised.

  • Looked After Children (LAC) are registered pupils who are:
    a) in the care of a Local Authority (LA), or;
    b) provided with accommodation by a LA in the exercise of its social care functions, for a continuous period of more than 24 hours.
  • Previously Looked After Children (PLAC) are registered pupils who were looked after by a LA but ceased to be as a result of any of the following:
    a) a child arrangements order, which includes arrangements relating to who the child lives with and when they are to live with them;
    b) a special guardianship order;
    c) an adoption order

We commit to working in close partnership with families, social workers and the Virtual School, to ensure that the needs for Looked After Children (LAC) and Previously Looked After Children (PLAC) are supported in an environment which prioritises stability, safety, individual care and attention and provide positive experiences,

Personal Education Plans (PEPs) are completed termly for Looked After Children. These are working documents which outline the education that our looked after children are receiving, their academic targets and their holistic progress. These children are in receipt of pupil premium plus funding which is awarded directly from the Virtual School.
