Forest School
Forest school is an educational approach that emphasises outdoor, nature-based learning, taking place in woodlands or natural environments. Rooted in Scandinavian educational philosophy, it focuses on child-led learning through exploration, play, and practical skills. Children engage in activities like building shelters, crafting with natural materials, and observing wildlife, fostering creativity, problem-solving, and resilience.
By immersing in nature, forest school encourages, physical activity, and social development. It allows children to build confidence and independence at their own pace, while developing a deeper connection to the natural world.
Forest School is carefully planned by Mrs Lukic and is designed to complement our classroom learning by fostering creativity, curiosity, and a love for the natural world, while developing essential life skills. We are always amazed by the engagement of children, and to see some of our quieter children really thrive.
Every Year 1 child experiences Forest School during their time with us.
