About Year 2
Children in Year 2 learn through a combination of structured lessons, where they have a main input, followed by independent work and follow-up challenges. During the afternoons they have more open ended challenge time. These sessions are aimed to build on the independence they develop as learners through the continuous and enhanced provision from Foundation and Year 1.
All Year 2 children have an iPad to support their learning in structured lessons, and during challenge time.
There are three core subjects, Mathematics, English and Science together with computing and the foundation subjects of geography, history, design technology, art, music and physical education. The children have weekly PSHE and RE lessons.
Children at Olney Infant Academy will have one outdoor and one indoor PE lesson each week.
