Welcome to Olney Infant Academy

On behalf of the children, staff and governors, I am delighted to welcome you to Olney Infant Academy. It is an absolute privilege to serve as the Headteacher of such a vibrant, ambitious and nurturing school community.

At Olney Infant Academy, we pride ourselves on creating a warm and caring environment where every child is challenged, inspired and supported to reach their full potential. Our commitment to excellence is woven through every aspect of school life, and we are passionate about providing an exciting, creative curriculum shaped by innovative, research-led practice and a commitment to educational excellence. We combine the very best of educational research with engaging, hands-on learning experiences, using approaches such as retrieval practice, vocabulary-rich teaching, purposeful questioning and carefully planned learning sequences to help children develop deep understanding and lasting knowledge. Alongside this, we embrace technology, creativity and real-world experiences to ensure our children are prepared not only for the next stage of education, but for the opportunities and challenges of the future. By capturing children's interests, talents and curiosity, we help them grow into confident, independent and successful learners who love coming to school each day.

Our excellent facilities provide the perfect environment for children to learn, explore and grow. These include a vibrant library, a large covered outdoor classroom for our Foundation children and extensive outdoor learning spaces featuring a wildlife area, pond, fields and playgrounds. Children also enjoy growing fruit and vegetables, which contribute to the nutritious meals prepared in our school kitchen.

We are proud to offer wraparound care from 7:45am through our Breakfast Club and until 6:00pm through our after-school provision. Beyond the school day, our thriving extra-curricular programme provides children with countless opportunities to discover new interests, develop talents and build confidence. Throughout the year, children can access a wide variety of clubs spanning sports, performing arts, wellbeing, environmental learning, technology and creativity. From Freestyle Football, tennis, gymnastics, dance and choir, to OIA University, Eco Warriors, Creative Constructors, Curious & Calm Club, OIA Future Innovators Club and outdoor adventure experiences through Kids Outdoors, there is truly something to inspire every child's interests and curiosity. We regularly refresh and expand our club offer, ensuring children continue to enjoy exciting new experiences, develop valuable life skills and uncover passions that may last a lifetime.
