Emotional Literacy
At Olney Infant Academy we are committed to fostering a nurturing environment that promotes the mental health and well-being of all our children and staff. We believe that emotional well-being is fundamental to learning, development, and happiness.
Our approach centres of the principles of the Leuven's Well-being scale alongside a Zones of Regulation approach, adapted to the the needs of our learners.
Without regulation, our children's readiness to learning is reduced. We are mindful of each the unique journey of each of our children with emotional regulation and therefore we work closely with parents to ensure we support this development as a team.
By using a combination our toolkit, whole body mapping (interoception) and emotional literacy vocabulary, we endeavour to teach our children how to become responsible citizens.
